Bird watching
Panama has scientifically registered more than 940 species of birds, more than any other country in the world. Prime bird watching locations are the Sovereignty National Park, Metropolitan National Park, Chagres National Park and Darien National Park.
The Audobon Society, a scientific organization specializing in the observation and conservation of birds, conducts its traditional Christmas count in the river basin of the Panama Canal, an event that attracts birders from around the world as participants.
