Sport Fishing & Diving

Panama is second to none when it comes to sport fishing, with over 200 International Game and Fishing Association records broken. The fishing is so spectacular in Panama that it is not unheard of to catch a large quantity of marlin in one week.

As if the pristine waters, colorful reefs and extraordinary marine life weren’t enough to offer to the avid diver, Panama also has an incredible history of pirates and their hidden treasures with the underwater shipwrecks to prove it. Sunken Spanish galleons and the ruins of forts ransacked by pirates such as Henry Morgan and Sir Francis Drake litter both the Atlantic and Pacific coasts of Panama. There was so much pirate activity in Panama that only a fraction of the ships have been found to date. A Spanish Galleon with 50 million dollars worth of riches was found off the coast of the Perlas Archipelago several years ago.
