Natural beauty in El Valle de Anton
El Valle is located in the province of Cocle, within 2 hours of Panama City. It is known for its beautiful mountain surroundings, friendly, small town atmosphere, cool temperatures, immaculate gardens, thermal hot springs, square trees and waterfalls.
The Flower of the Holy Spirit (Peristeria Elata) is a rare flower adopted by Panama as its national flower, and it is currently blooming in full splendor at El Nispero plant nursery and zoo, located in El Valle de Anton.
The name of this exotic orchid comes from a group of petals that form what looks like that image of a white dove in its center. It blooms between July and September and is usually found deep in the forests and highlands of Panama.
El Nispero, created by the Caballero family over 30 years ago, is one of the most popular attractions in El Valle de Anton. The hacienda is the home of peacocks, owls, storks, and herons, serpents, crocodiles, and felines. The park is also home to the famous golden frog, which is endemic to El Valle and surrounding mountains.
El Nispero is a perfect place for picnics and family outings. It also offers spectacular natural and landscaped scenes. Open to the public from: 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Price of admission: $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for children.
